Employees of the Volga customs service have identified a channel for the transfer of drugs by mail from Spain to Russia.

This was reported ina press release of the department.

It was established that the criminals ordered illegal substances from Spain via the Internet.

The cybercriminals were selling goods on the DarkNet, accepting payment in cryptocurrency.

To communicate, the suspects used a private messenger, which encrypted the data.

The suspects were identified after the discovery of 200 grams of hashish in a package that was intended for a resident of the Penza region.

A criminal case was initiated against two Russians under Part 4 of Art. 229.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

Later, two more parcels from abroad arrived at the address of the men. It contained 2.4 kg of hashish and 400 g of cannabis.

The drugs were hidden in the clothes that were in the package.

In addition, during the searches, the suspects were found about 1.5 kg of mephedrone.

Privolzhskaya operational customs opened seven criminal cases under part 3 of article 229.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation and one criminal case under paragraph “a” of part 4 of article 229.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

The suspects face life imprisonment.
